Improved

  • Much calmer pace — base fall speed and the difficulty ramp slowed substantially; diving is now the way to go fast. Far less disorienting.
  • Readability — hazards are dark with bright red rims, safe lanes glow green, and the camera sits back and looks further down the shaft so you see what's coming.
  • Gates reworked — thinner walls that no longer block the view of what's behind them, bigger gaps, and a large clear run-out so nothing hides in a wall's shadow.
  • Softer visuals — less screen shake, gentler spin, pastel tunnel colors, fewer wind streaks.
  • Menu/HUD polish — stronger text contrast, fixed button and character-name sizing.

Fixed

  • Music no longer cuts out on death or pickups.

Removed

  • All one-off sound effects — replaced by a single continuous music track that swells on big moments (pickups, rings, shield saves).
  • Camouflaged same-color obstacles that blended into the background.

  • When your character dies you can now continue the family line as the next generation, picking up a descendant's life where they left off
  • When you die your wealth passes down (split however you set it in your will, or evenly between your children by default)
  • Reputation passes to the next generation, fading with each step down the line
  • Added a Write a will action so you can decide exactly how your estate divides among your children
  • Added a Family Story page. Read your whole line so far, generation by generation, with each member's backstory and the notable moments of their life
  • Some events now reference your ancestors, not just your own past
  • Added a funeral when your spouse or partner passes away
  • Added the "Year 3000" achievement

Improved

  • Obituaries now name the profession you spent longest in (businessman, government worker, farmer) instead of just "a man" or "a woman"

Fixed

  • The "Better job available" indicator no longer points at senior roles you'd have to be promoted into rather than apply for
  • An unmarried partner you had children with no longer disappears from the family tree when they die
