Boomtown
Boomtown is a business tycoon where you start with an empty corner shop and build your way up to a chain. There's no idle income. You only make money by actually running the place, day after trading day.
The corner shop is about layout and forecasting: build your floor on a grid, read tomorrow's weather and events, stock accordingly, and work the till while shoplifters try their luck. Turn a decent profit and you unlock the café, which is a completely different problem. There you're engineering throughput, building a menu around the machines you've placed and rostering baristas so no station chokes during the rush.
Both are fully playable now, with a Nightclub, Salon, Arcade and Bank still to come. Everyone shares one town and competes on the Town Tycoons leaderboard for all-time earnings.
