- Terminal-Based Bitcoin Mining
- The core of the game is a terminal where you type commands to mine bitcoin. You type "mine" and watch a progress bar fill up with ASCII art. When it finishes you earn BTC based on your current mining power and multipliers. There is a command queue system so if you type something while a mine is almost done it will execute right after. The terminal supports command history with the up arrow key and has typing sounds for every keystroke.
- Five Upgrade Paths
- All upgrades are bought through the terminal. Mine Power increases how much bitcoin you earn per mine. GPU Upgrade boosts your mining multiplier. Auto Miners generate passive BTC income over time. ASIC Miners are the high-end version that generate way more passive income. Cooling upgrades reduce heat buildup so you can mine more aggressively. Every upgrade has exponential cost scaling with diminishing returns at higher levels to keep things balanced.
- Heat and Cooling System
- Mining generates heat. Auto miners and ASIC miners also generate passive heat over time. If your system hits 100% heat you are locked out of mining until you cool down. The cool command runs a 3-second fan animation that brings your temperature down. Cooling upgrades make the fan more effective and reduce how fast heat builds up. At cooling level 20 the system will automatically cool itself when it overheats.
- Full Economy with Bitcoin Price Simulation
- The game has a dual currency system with BTC and USD. Bitcoin price starts around $62,000 and fluctuates every two seconds using a random walk algorithm with mean reversion. There are occasional large price swings to keep things interesting. You can sell your bitcoin for USD or buy bitcoin with USD through the terminal. Every transaction gets logged with timestamps and amounts.
- Bank App
- The bank app looks like a real banking application. It shows your USD balance, your BTC portfolio value, investment performance with price change indicators, and a bar chart of recent price history. There is a scrollable transaction feed showing all your buys and sells with icons and formatted amounts.
- Windows 7 Aero Glass Desktop
- The entire in-game computer runs a custom Windows 7 recreation with aero glass transparency effects on every window. Title bars have the glass blur texture, glow effects, and proper minimize and close buttons with hover and inactive states. Windows are draggable, minimizable, closable, and have proper z-ordering with click-to-focus. The taskbar has a start orb with hover animation, shows all open apps, has a clock with the real date and time, and a show desktop button. The start menu pulls your Steam avatar and display name.
- Store App with Workshop Integration
- The store app is styled like an online shopping site. It pulls real models from the s&box workshop and lets you browse by category - furniture, nature, vehicles, weapons, food, tools, lights, buildings, decorations, animals, sci-fi, and medieval. There is a search bar that queries the workshop directly. Every item has a price based on either a hand-curated price list or a formula based on the model's bounding volume. You buy items with your USD balance.
- Package Delivery and Furniture Placement
- When you buy something from the store it gets delivered to your door. A doorbell rings and a cardboard box spawns at the delivery point. Walk up to it, press E to open it, and the actual model pops out. You are immediately put into placement mode where you can move it around, snap it to surfaces, and rotate it with left and right click. Press E to place it or middle mouse button to sell it back for the full purchase price. All placed furniture is persistent - it saves when you place or sell items and loads back in when you rejoin.
- Music Player
- The game has a built-in music system with multiple tracks. When you are walking around the room you hear a muffled version of the music. When you sit down at the computer the clear version fades in. Tracks cycle automatically when they finish.
- Achievements
- There are six achievements to unlock - Welcome to Bitcoin Miner for starting the game, First Upgrade for buying any upgrade, Buy 1 Autominer, Reach Mine Power Level 10, Mined 1 Full Bitcoin, and Buy Your First Piece of Furniture. These are tracked through the s&box achievement system.
- Save System
- Everything saves automatically. Your mining progress, bank balance, bitcoin price history, transaction log, and all placed furniture with exact positions and rotations. Come back anytime and pick up where you left off.

- Text outlines were way too thick on leaderboard and ascension views
- Ascension confirmation panel wasn't triggering a UI refresh when opened
- Help panel was rebuilding every frame unnecessarily
- Buying generators at level 0 could produce incorrect cost calculations
- Unlock ordering could break under certain registration sequences
