About
Head Bobbing Effect
Head Bobbing Effect is a velocity-driven first-person camera component for s&box. It adds natural camera
movement while standing, walking, sprinting, crouching, and landing.
The effect responds to the player’s actual movement speed, so slower movement produces slower and softer bobbing while
faster movement increases the cadence and intensity. Smooth blending prevents sudden camera snapping when starting,
stopping, or switching between walking and sprinting.
Features
- Velocity-driven bobbing intensity and cadence
- Smooth walking and sprinting transitions
- Subtle idle breathing and weight shifting
- Acceleration and stopping inertia
- Crouching and airborne blending
- Spring-based landing response
- Frame-rate-independent smoothing
- Position and rotation safety limits
- Inspector settings for easy customization
- Automatically disabled in third person and for network proxies
Usage
Add the Head Bobbing Effect component to the same GameObject as your PlayerController. The included defaults provide a
polished starting preset, and every part of the effect can be adjusted from the Inspector.
The component modifies the active first-person camera and works automatically with movement-speed changes, including
stamina systems that adjust the player’s actual velocity.
