What are s&box servers?

s&box servers are dedicated game servers currently visible through Steam's server list for the s&box app. A server can host a game package, run a map, and expose live player and capacity information.

Servers are different from game packages. A game can exist without a public dedicated server being active at that moment. Some multiplayer sessions may not appear in Steam's dedicated server list. A dedicated server can also change what it is running over time. This page shows the live server list, not a permanent directory of every s&box server that has ever existed.

Reading the server browser

Use this s&box server list as a lightweight server browser outside the game. It shows which dedicated servers are live, which games and maps they are running, whether they have open slots, and how many players are online.

The server list is sorted by current players by default. Player count is useful, but it is only a snapshot. A quiet server may fill later. A busy server may empty out. Capacity shows how many player slots are available, not how active the game is over a full day.

The game and map columns help connect a live server to the public packages listed elsewhere on sbox.watch. When a package can be matched, the row links back to the game or map page. When it cannot be matched, the raw server information is still shown.
