About

Tanks is a turn-based artillery game for 2–8 players. Each player commands a tank on a destructible 2D battlefield, and the last tank standing wins the round. A match lasts 10 rounds by default (you can set 1–30), and whoever has won the most rounds at the end wins the match.

Players: each slot can be a human or a compuard). You can play several humans on onemachine taking turns, or play online in an s&box lobby. Online turns have a 30-second timer.

Your turn:
- Aim: set the barrel angle (0–180°) and shot power (0–100), then fire.
- Wind: wind pushes every shell sideways. It changes gradually from turn to turn rather than jumping around, so you can plan for it.
- Move: you can drive left or right, which uses fuel. Fuel refills each round, and climbing hills uses more of it.
- Items: use a Repair Kit (+30 HP) or a Shield, or Teleport to a spot you click. Teleporting doesn't use up your turn.

Terrain: each round is played on Desert (genills) or Mountain (steep peaks), or a randompick. Explosions blow craters in the ground. Tanks on ground that's been blown away fall, and a long fall causes
damage unless the tank has a parachute.

Weapons:
- Missiles and atom bombs: a basic missile with unlimited ammo, plus bigger blasts up to the Atom Bomb.
- Volcano Bomb: a first blast, then it splits into five smaller bombs.
- Shower and Hot Shower: fire a spread of 5
- Balls: roll along the ground and then explode. The "v2" versions explode sooner.
- Air Strike: you click a target and five bo

Money and the shop:
- What you earn: $100 for each HP of damage per kill, $10,000 for winning the round, and $10,000 to every tank at the end of each round, win or lose.
- Shop: opens after every round except the last. You can buy ammo, items (parachutes, fuel, four shield strengths,
repair kits, teleports) and upgrades.
- Upgrades: Energy (more fuel), Armor (less damage taken), Engine (faster driving) and Hill Move (climbing costs less fuel). Each goes up to level 5 and lasts for the whole match.

Starting kit: every tank starts with $10,000, 100 HP, a Repair Kit, a Shield, 3 Missiles and a Volcano Bomb.
