Welcome to the Dungeon!

Dark Descent is an intense, melee focused dungeon crawler set inside the abandoned castle of a Lich!

Sporting a lovingly crafted combat system reminiscent of other melee Slasher titles such as Mordhau and Chivalry, complex interconnected random level generation and a wide range of dynamically generated lootable items to find!

In addition to all that we have 20+ unique weapons, 35 class skills you can level up, 10 unique enemies + 1 boss, 300+ handcrafted animations, 33 achievements and many secrets to find!

May you find your fortune within the depths of Castle Velmorren.

  • Multiplayer
  • I've enabled multiplayer for everyone. It's buggy as fuck, so please report any bugs you find here. I will address them over time.
  • I hemmed and hawed about this for ages - largely because s&box punishes a games visibility if it errors a lot and with multiplayer I cannot guarantee that wont happen.
  • Ultimately I decided to just bite the bullet - it should *mostly* work. Mostly. Maybe.
  • Spellcasting especially will be fucked in multiplayer.

Improved

  • hotbar got a massive rework, should be more intuitive/useful
  • i'm sure i did some other stuff - couldn't tell you what though, god I'm good at this.
  • the map is fixed - praise be

Known issues

  • Mind Whip stun doesn't work correctly
  • Icon colours are fucked (thanks facepunch)
  • Health bars are fucked (thanks facepunch)
  • Hotbar can appear over the top of your Character Sheet
