  • Added a 24-hour dormant public canvases feature before they disappear (timer resets if other players join during that time)
  • Released an updated sbox_temp_ink.exe (sbox_temp_ink_v2)

Improved

  • Replaced the previous blank background start up menu with a new 3D animated one
  • Updated a few other UI elements to fit with the start up menu theme
  • Changed generated live canvas previews to use backend servers instead of local & increased their min size to 512x384 instead
  • Added a simple showcase animation when checking a live canvas & other one for starting a canvas
  • Improved pen pressure interactable options and their communication with sbox_temp_ink

Fixed

  • Fixed & updated previous ancient layer renaming code that recently broke
  • Fixed "Load Canvas" failing to actually load the saved canvas
  • Fixed previous UI sounds being positional because I forgot
Version 1.12 Version 1.12 Changenotes Added a proper saving and loading canvas feature 14 changes

Added

  • Added a proper saving and loading canvas feature
  • Added a new tool option for brush and eraser that handles brush size relative to speed
  • Added a Gallery feed UI element to the main menu
  • Added a key configuration "ESC" that closes the + Create Canvas menu
  • Added a cozy little rain ambience on main menu

Improved

  • Included more remembering functions for the main menu settings and file names instead of having to see the same default settings every time
  • Updated hearting gallery posts
  • Updated various UI elements
  • Added a check that deletes obsolete preview images that were saved & left behind from public canvases
  • Updated image rendering from pixelated to bilinear
  • Added a proper scale and deletion logic to the select tools and updated brush & eraser settings

Fixed

  • Fixed "delete" key configuration not triggering the layer clear function
  • Fixed a strange out of sync bug that occurs when sharing & unsharing a layer over and over on network players

Known issues

  • Previously every time you started the game you would've had to start from the beginning with default names, settings and canvases, but now you can keep drawing on the same canvas for later if you decide to save it instead of making a new one every single time or uploading to gallery where everybody could access it. You can also keep re-creating the same lobby if you decide to host the same previous canvas that people drew on.
Version 1.11 Version 1.11 changenotes Added Windows Ink support via a CMD executable sbox_temp_ink.exe (link in 1.11 news post & main description) 16 changes

Improved

  • Eased up a previous hard-coded brush set function to now look for any .vtex file in the brushes folder to collect as a new brush
  • Corrected a previous "smoothen low size brush" function to keep the normal small brush size more faithful instead of looking super anti-aliased/smoothened
  • Updated various different UI elements
  • Optimized 1.10 additions, more UI-related elements that were getting called every frame & fixed the 500 drawn layer limit that was getting counted from the beginning accidentally
  • Renamed "Move" tool to "Transform"
  • Changed default starting resolution from 4096x4096 to 2048x2048

Known issues

  • If you were experiencing lag recently in REPaint, it's been mostly because of REPaint allocating multiple canvas-sized arrays during a rebuild as well as the recent additions to REPaint. This update fixes some of those problems, so REPaint should in theory run better now. If I find something else bugging the system, I will be releasing more quiet optimization updates about it!
