About
Work in progress. Keepers of Windmere is being built for the One More Round jam and is not finished. Bosses, balance, the map and the sounds are all still moving. Expect rough edges, missing pieces and the odd bug. Play it, tell us what broke, and check back: it gets a new build most days until the jam closes on 25 September.
You and up to three friends keep Windmere.
By day, work the land: dig ore, fell trees, plant and harvest, fish the mere, and haul it all to one shared storehouse. Then forge it into something sharper at the Forge, the Workbench and the Kitchen: swords, bows, arrows, fences, traps, a hot meal before dark.
Every night something comes up the road for the Heart. Rats, wolves, worse. Fence it, trap it, fight it.
Every second dusk the bell tolls and the beast walks in. A different monster each visit, bigger and meaner than the last. Kill it before it breaks the Heart. Lose the Heart and the run is over.
Survive the season and the elder rings the bell: one more round? Say yes and the calendar extends, the village gets richer, and whatever comes next is worse.
How it plays
- First person. Tap to cut, hold to wind up a heavy. Block with a blade; a block raised just before the hit is a parry. Dodge with Ctrl. Draw the bow and let it fly.
- Five-minute days, a raid every night, a boss every second dusk. A short season is three bosses, about forty minutes. A full season is five.
- The storehouse is the trade. No inventory haggling: everything goes in the book, and the village spends it together.
- Solo is a complete game. Numbers scale with the table.
Controls WASD move · Shift run · E use · LMB attack · RMB block/parry · Ctrl dodge · Tab pack · Z sheath · 1–5 belt
Still to come More bosses and night-time visitors, the upgrades ledger, more to craft and cook, and a proper ending to the season. If something feels off, it probably is: say so in the forum.
