About

How it plays

You earn fuel by chopping down trees and spending it is where the game begins. Feed the fire to expand your warmth radius and unlock deeper parts of the map, or invest in better tools to chop faster and earn more. The further you push into the frozen forest, the harsher the cold gets and the harder it is to stay efficient.

Features

  • Precision axe with a crit timing minigame, chainsaw that hits multiple trees at once, or a logging truck that fells trees automatically as you drive through them. Each has its own upgrade path and feel.
  • Reforge your tools across 5 rarities for boosted stats. The odds are visible. The outcome never is.
  • Reset your progress for a permanent fuel multiplier, then spend tokens on axe crit damage, chainsaw area, or vehicle fuel efficiency. Build your style deeper each run.
  • The fire isn't just atmosphere. Your warmth radius is your access pass. Bigger fire means more map, better drops, and a fighting chance against the cold.
  • Leaderboard tracks your lifetime fuel earned and prestige count. Climb the ranks, stay on top.
  • Everyone runs their own fuel, tools and upgrades. Race to the outer rings or feed the same fire together.
  • Chop, feed the fire, upgrade, prestige, repeat. Simple loop, hard to put down.

Updates

1 update
Version 1.1 The feedback update The Snowman by the fire is now a proper guide! Talk to him to learn how the fuel bonus works, what the cold meter does, how prestige and reforge work, and all the controls. 34 changes

Added

  • The Snowman by the fire is now a proper guide! Talk to him to learn how the fuel bonus works, what the cold meter does, how prestige and reforge work, and all the controls.
  • A "Prestige Ready" notification the first time you hit the fuel goal, so you know it's statue time.
  • Three new tutorial steps that explain the cold meter, your fuel and bonus, and the fire compass. They appear right next to the thing they explain, and you advance them with K when you're ready.
  • Rarity now actually matters on every tool: Chainsaw gets more damage and longer chain jumps, Truck gets a bigger cut area and more damage. Legendary is a proper beast now, worth a reforge session.
  • The reforge shop now shows the roll odds, the power of each rarity, what rarity does for each specific tool, and how lucky your current roll was.
  • Clear tool descriptions in the shop: Chainsaw is hold to cut, Truck cuts everything you drive past, Axe is charge and release in the glowing zone.
  • Compact numbers everywhere (1.2k, 34.5m) so your eyes can rest.
  • Little bits of game feel: the fuel counter gives a happy shake when you earn fuel, and the bonus label pops when it grows.
  • Discord is coming soon! There's a small note about it in the pause menu and at the Snowman.

Improved

  • The economy after prestige. Your income still multiplies by 1.5x each prestige, but prices now grow slower, so every run gets faster and upgrades keep feeling cheaper. No more flat grind.
  • Inventory capacity is now a real decision: base capacity covers your prestige goal with a little headroom, and capacity upgrades are what let you save up for the big purchases.
  • The warmth circle now scales properly with the tree rings. With a big fire and radius upgrades you can genuinely push into the far rings, and radius upgrades no longer stop mattering early.
  • Ring 4 is denser and trees stream in much smoother, so far fewer trees popping into existence in front of you during storms.
  • Leaderboard: clean Top 20 with scrolling, the Legendaries tab got its color, and the refresh button now pushes your latest stats before reloading the list.
  • New players now start on High graphics by default (Ultra is still right there in the settings). My 55 fps friends, this one's for you. If you were already playing before this update, your setting won't change automatically — you can switch it yourself from the pause menu.
  • Nametags no longer float in front of open shop panels and don't vanish when you stand close to a merchant.
  • The prestige tab layout: everything fits, buttons are centered, and your skill levels are highlighted in gold.
  • Optimized the LOD switching on one of the tree types for better performance.

Fixed

  • The big one: fuel could flip to a huge negative number at high prestige. The whole currency system was rebuilt to support endless growth. Your saves migrate automatically, nothing is lost.
  • The leaderboard freezing once lifetime fuel got high enough.
  • The capacity upgrade looking like it did nothing.
  • The Truck getting stuck on the stumps of trees you already cut.
  • Garbled shop texts like "Tier 10x reforge" and the mystery numbers in the reforge panel.
  • A stray Turkish word on the chainsaw HUD. It says "/cut" now, as it should.
  • The prestige token reward showing the wrong amount in the shop.

Removed

  • Ultra as the forced starting preset (for new players).
  • The timer that rushed you through tutorial tips before you finished reading.
  • The letter that sat on top of everyone's avatar on the leaderboard.
  • The stock anime girl character models. They're temporarily replaced with placeholder sausage models until I model proper new ones on my own time.
  • Every last long dash from the UI. They know what they did.

Known issues

  • The vehicle camera can snap in close when something blocks it. A smoother camera is on the list.
  • Distant tree leaves can look a bit pixelated. I'm looking into texture quality options.
  • The particle system still isn't as optimized as I'd like. I'll keep working on it — if you're having performance trouble in the meantime, fine-tune the graphics settings from the pause menu.
  • Leaderboard values can take a minute or two to update on the server side, that's normal.
