About

FOUND TAPES is a multiplayer hide-and-seek horror game for 1–6 players, with the look of an old VHS tape.

Modes

  • Escape – One player is the Murderer, everyone else is a Survivor. Find keys and tools hidden around the map, open the exit and get out before time runs out or the Murderer catches you.
  • Hide & Seek (coming soon) – No objectives and no exit. Just stay hidden.

Play solo against the MurdererBOT or with friends. With friends, you can vote in the lobby to let the bot hunt everyone.

  • VHS look with scanlines, noise and a REC overlay
  • Flashlight and stamin
  • Keys, tools and lit lamps change every round
  • Vote on round time and hide time in the lobby
  • Spectate other players after you die


The game is in an early stage, so expect bugs and missing features. Feedback is very welcome!

  • Stamina that limits sprinting, shown as a bar on the HUD. The murderer has a bit less, so it's easier to escape.

Improved

  • Footsteps from the floor above or below are now much quieter.
  • Player collision while sprinting, it's easier now to run through tight spaces.
  • Weaker VHS scanlines during gameplay.

Fixed

  • Sound Player footsteps were almost silent, so it seemed like the game had no sound.
  • Player outfits not showing for other players.
  • The murderer could see escape items.
