Version 0.16.0 Multiplayer Performance Update The map is rebuilt: district centers are built up, with parks at the corners and edges, a denser, taller Neon Heights skyline and log cabins in the Wildwood 78 modifications

Added

  • The map is rebuilt: district centers are built up, with parks at the corners and edges, a denser, taller Neon Heights skyline and log cabins in the Wildwood
  • Charged blocks give off rising gold sparkles, which drift out through the blocks around buried ones
  • Buried geodes sparkle like charged blocks, and breaking one tells you it held a geode
  • Everyone sees it in chat when a player cracks a Legendary item out of a geode, with the geode and the item they found
  • Other players see grass and flowers burst into debris when you pop them
  • Chat says when a joining player has finished loading and can play
  • The Gear Up task explains what Power, Speed, Area and Range mean
  • A Tool Collector leaderboard counts every tool you have bought
  • A Korrik Games splash opens the game, its cubes stacking into the logo while the main menu loads behind it
  • Geodes have their own Eggs & Geodes inventory tab, with the Hydraulic Press that opens them
  • Tools and equipment show how much of their power lands when they are behind the district you are in

Improved

  • Hosts run much lighter with several players: hits, sparks, explosions and sounds are only sent to players close enough to see them
  • Collapse debris takes about a third less bandwidth, and walking around a building you are demolishing no longer re-downloads it
  • Big collapses, many blasts at once and busy demolition no longer stall the host
  • The world finishes loading sooner behind the loading screen
  • A district reset no longer freezes the host when the game is busy
  • Far-off demolition and district rebuilds cost less until a player, vehicle or projectile comes near
  • Particles from districts past your render distance are no longer simulated or drawn
  • Fire dies out quickly on stone, metal, glass and dirt instead of spreading across them, while wood still burns through
  • Grass keeps fire burning on the dirt beneath it, and fire spreads across grassy ground
  • Big fire and acid fields cost far less framerate, with the same damage per second
  • Heavy demolition no longer holds up collapses and district resets
  • Every self-buff power lasts 25 seconds, and Berserk and Power Surge also widen your swing
  • Acid smoke is thinner and smaller, so melting blocks no longer bury the screen
  • Impact grenades cost half as much to craft and hit 1.5x harder over a 1.5x wider blast
  • The gunship's Bofors and Howitzer hit 15% harder with wider blasts
  • From the gunship you see full block damage detail on the ground far below
  • The Pyromaniac perk unlocks at District 8, crafted from District 8 salvage and gold
  • Pyromaniac, Corrosive Touch and the cutting torch burn and melt only as hard as your tool in districts deeper than it
  • The last levels of Titan's Wrath and Echoing Blast cost one more token
  • You can own two Upgrade Benches and two Crafting Tables
  • Item icons load much faster: a first launch uses icons shipped with the game, and later launches reuse the ones saved on disk
  • The inventory's Assets section is two rows tall at every screen size

Fixed

  • When the host leaves, the new host keeps the whole demolished world, with buried geodes, district progress and reset timers intact
  • When the host leaves, crafting stations, the press and producers keep their contents, and a geode in the press keeps its prize
  • When the host leaves, fire and acid keep burning at their real strength, and half-cut buildings still fall
  • After a host change, rebuilt blocks, partly broken blocks and meteor ore come back correctly, and placeables can be broken and picked up again
  • After a host change, the new host no longer inherits ghost effects, weather or fire systems, or the old host's tool floating by its hand
  • After a host change, powers stay district-locked and powers activated just before keep working
  • The host and every client show the same district over a player's head
  • Nearby players see a geode win too: the prize, the burst and the stinger, flying to the winner
  • Players no longer see stale rubble after crossing into a new area while the host is lagging
  • Clients see every block of a big collapse fall instead of only the last few hundred
  • Prestiging as a connected client removes all your placed assets, and items stored inside your placeables no longer carry through a prestige
  • A slow world load gets 60 seconds before the loading screen gives up, not 45
  • Untouched buildings, trees and ground no longer give way under their own weight
  • Tall buildings no longer give way under their own weight the first time something nearby breaks
  • Rebuilt buildings no longer collapse right after a district reset
  • Rebuilt districts no longer have stairs, upper walls, awnings, water tanks, vents or street lamps that drop the moment something nearby breaks
  • Only one district rebuilds at a time; others that are due wait their turn and stay breakable
  • Trees and rocks no longer stand on flowers and grass
  • Each district's model shows again in the Trading Post and on the district map
  • Spotting charged blocks no longer stutters the game
  • Falling chunks keep their shape as they drop, and their blocks stay until they land
  • Grass and flowers caught in a collapse break where they stood instead of landing as cubes
  • Side damage (perk fire and acid, thrown dynamite) fills the rampage meter during a power, and nothing earns a power while you are outside a district
  • Respawning or changing your carried items during a power no longer leaves hidden copies of your tools behind
  • Shots, launched rounds and thrown items stop at the edge of the district with a shield ripple
  • A station you already own counts toward Build a Workshop right away, and Gear Up counts a tool you already bought, so neither can leave you stuck
  • Damage from earthquakes, tornadoes, the orbital laser and pets no longer counts twice toward damage tasks
  • The Master Crafter leaderboard counts every item a craft makes, so a five-grenade recipe adds five
  • Returning to the main menu from a session no longer breaks the menu
  • The build hotbar's nine slots always sit in three rows of three, whatever your screen size
  • Contract reward cards are all the same height
  • Chat messages wrap under the sender's name, and leaderboard tags in chat show just the icon and rank
  • The Hydraulic Press prompt says "Hold to remove geode" so the hold is discoverable
  • Prestige tokens wear gold in the inventory
  • Reward sparkles show their rarity's color instead of burning orange
  • Item descriptions in shop and detail rows show two lines instead of cutting off after one
  • Molotovs and acid grenades show their fire and acid damage per second instead of 0 power
  • An emptied hotbar slot drops the rarity color of the item that left it

Removed

  • The Deepest District leaderboard

Known issues

  • A home built on a south-side plot before 0.13.0 loads facing away from the road; rebuild it to turn it around
  • Uncollected output in a joined player's placeables is not saved when they leave; collect before leaving
  • Basic dynamite shows in the Trading Post for $0
  • Range upgrades can't be bought yet
  • The Wide Load perk has no effect on tools with no area effect
  • Crafting hints may list recipes that need salvage from districts you haven't unlocked
Version 0.15.0 Collapse & Tutorial Update Buildings collapse under their own weight: heavy blocks crush weak supports, and big collapses spill debris 26 modifications

Added

  • Buildings collapse under their own weight: heavy blocks crush weak supports, and big collapses spill debris
  • A short Tutorial teaches the core loop first, and the rest of chapter 1 becomes The Job
  • New players start just inside District 1, with something to break in reach
  • Shots stop at district walls and the map edge, and a hit ripples the force field where it lands
  • Outside a district your tool stays in your hand but lowered, and you can't swing until you step back in
  • Trying to attack outside a district tells you why nothing happens
  • Your leaderboard rank shows as a tag beside your name in chat, the player list and on your home sign
  • Salvage reward cards on the Contract Board show what they sell for at the Hopper
  • What's New shows each update's notes once when you join, and any time from the Escape menu
  • Shadows, Block Detail, Particles and Bloom settings let you trade looks for framerate
  • Your throwable sits as a small disc above the power ring, and the ring refills as it recharges
  • The crosshair turns to a gray x on blocks that can never be broken, and hides when your hands are empty

Improved

  • Fire races through wood, while stone and metal take far more heat to catch and barely spread it
  • Impact grenades hit much harder in a tighter blast
  • District 1 is level ground that meets the hub path, with no hills or grass staircase
  • The HUD, pickup feed and menus cost less CPU, which helps framerate on low-end machines
  • Item cells show their block material without the diagonal stripes behind them

Fixed

  • Stone dug out of a district comes back its normal color when the district resets
  • Coal and ore come back in dug-out ground when a district resets
  • Glass and water show again on the curio shelf, sluice box and other placeables
  • Crack the Harvest Geode completes if you already cracked it before the task appeared
  • Going Deeper's geode task accepts any geode, so cracking the Harvest Geode early can't strand it
  • Guns no longer shake violently while lowered outside a district
  • The tool or item in your hand glows with the same bloom as the world around it
  • The Hours on the Job board shows a clock instead of a settings icon
  • Closed chat no longer leaves an empty band above its last lines
Version 0.14.0 Acid & Performance Update Blocks melting in acid give off thick green smoke that lifts slowly 10 modifications

Added

  • Blocks melting in acid give off thick green smoke that lifts slowly
  • The equipment slot on the hotbar shows the item's rarity, like your tools do
  • A Low option for the Clouds setting draws one cloud layer instead of three
  • A message explains when a geode reward you already own is turned into cash

Improved

  • The world draws faster on the GPU, especially through trees
  • Block textures use about 500 MB less video memory

Fixed

  • Acid grenades and Corrosive Touch keep working after you've used acid elsewhere
  • The wrecking ball no longer gets stuck when a collapse falls on it
  • Joining a game no longer sometimes leaves you with an invisible world
  • Corrosive Touch and Pyromaniac damage now pays the player who swung, not the host

Version 0.13.1 Chat & Perk Sound Hotfix Chat no longer shows a title next to names; the developer's name is shown in red instead 2 modifications

Improved

  • Chat no longer shows a title next to names; the developer's name is shown in red instead

Removed

  • Perk pop-ups no longer play a sound when a perk triggers, and the Perk sounds setting is gone
Version 0.13.0 Chat & Upgrade Tokens Update A new chat box in the bottom-left shows each player's avatar and title, with a profanity filter you can turn off in Settings 32 modifications

Added

  • A new chat box in the bottom-left shows each player's avatar and title, with a profanity filter you can turn off in Settings
  • A speaker icon shows on the nameplate of whoever is talking on voice chat, and on your screen while you talk
  • Rare Tool and Perk Upgrade Tokens drop from geodes; each pays for one Upgrade Bench upgrade instead of cash and materials
  • Your first three contract turn-ins each day have no wait; after that the board waits 5 minutes between contracts
  • Contracts can pay an Upgrade Token, and you're told when new contracts are ready
  • When a perk triggers, its icon and bonus pop off the block with a short sound (both can be turned off in Settings)
  • The map and minimap show every player as an arrow pointing where they're looking, and show homes, the hub and districts as their own models
  • The loading screen shows a rotating gameplay tip under the progress bar

Improved

  • The Prism Railgun fires automatically while you hold the trigger, never reloads, and hits much harder and wider
  • The first tool you buy in each district is a bigger step up from the free one, later purchases are smaller steps, and the free hammer is a bit weaker
  • Meteor and Artillery strikes hit much harder and wider
  • The Shockwave Cannon breaks stone
  • Explosions, fires, rebuilds and sounds far away from you no longer cost you frames
  • Block changes reach each player by area, so a busy district doesn't hold up everyone else's updates
  • A few power blocks sit on building surfaces, so some can be spotted without digging
  • Each district shows its own model in the Trading Post list, fogged until you unlock it
  • Hopper cards show how many you hold as a count badge, like your inventory
  • The Hopper opens without a hitch the first time
  • The Players page shows each player's title beside their name
  • The Discord button sits on the main menu card, and the title no longer bobs when you hover an option

Fixed

  • A sound that would screech or never stop is cut off
  • Your own swing whoosh stays in front of you instead of jumping between ears as you turn
  • Meteor ore clears for everyone when a district resets, keeps its color for other players, and no longer turns grass and flowers to stone
  • Players who join later see nameplates and map markers for everyone who joined before them
  • Players beyond your view distance are hidden instead of standing on terrain that has already disappeared
  • The Contract Board foreman is dressed for every player, not just the host
  • Your home loads facing the road on whichever plot you get, and placeables keep the way you turned them
  • When a player leaves, the ground they dug out or built into on their plot is put back
  • Standing on another player's plot shows whose home it is for everyone, not just the host
  • The Crafting Bench grid scrolls under its search bar without clipping the selection ring
  • The "Upgrade purchased" notification names the tool and the level you bought, with the tool's icon

Removed

  • The Go Home shortcut on the district panel; Your Home is on the world map
Version 0.12.0 Contracts & New Look Update The Contract Board – a foreman in the hub's west portico hands out one job at a time: salvage, ore or fragment runs in your districts 73 modifications

Added

  • The Contract Board – a foreman in the hub's west portico hands out one job at a time: salvage, ore or fragment runs in your districts
  • Finish a contract anywhere, turn it in at the board, and keep 2 of the 4 reward cards it deals
  • Now and then a contract asks you to craft blocks in a set color at the Crafting Table and deliver them
  • Every contract lists the rewards it can pay, how much each pays and how common it is
  • A finished contract puts a waypoint on the board, chimes when it's ready and clinks when you claim it
  • Odd Jobs – a new chapter one task that sends you to the foreman for your first contract
  • Pick a Perk now has you craft Wingman, the friendship perk, and hands over Quick Draw as the reward
  • Players page in the Escape menu – everyone in the game with their avatar, district, prestige and ping
  • Nameplates show each player's Steam avatar and their highest district (avatars can be turned off in Settings)
  • The Leveler's mini-nukes go off in a mushroom cloud, send a shockwave along the ground and launch with a deep, heavy boom
  • Short Fuse prestige upgrade takes a second off your dynamite's recharge per level
  • Earning a Lucky Drop plays a sound and shows the geode you got, and you're told when a deeper geode can drop
  • The Lucky Drop meter lives on a Geodes tab at the Hydraulic Press; a small meter shows on the HUD when it's nearly full
  • Notifications show the block, tool, power or item they are about
  • Item tooltips name each stat beside its icon

Improved

  • Every menu and HUD panel is rebuilt in a new block style, with one header for every station showing its model and your wallet
  • Shop, inventory and menu windows are 15% smaller, leaving more of the game visible
  • The Escape menu is redesigned; key bindings are a button in Settings
  • The world map is drawn from the real block textures, hides districts you haven't unlocked under fog, and has a Your Home destination
  • A district on the world map has one main button – Travel, Go Home, or Buy with a confirm step – that also works on a controller
  • Waypoint markers always show their distance and hide while a menu is open
  • Prestige upgrades always show as Legendary, and perks as Epic until leveled to max
  • Grass is named Small, Medium and Large Grass
  • Joining a game, and loading a solo world, is much faster: the world arrives pre-built instead of being generated on every machine
  • Settle In also gives 100 wood and 100 stone blocks, enough to start building a home
  • The prestige tribute asks for the same amount of every ore, matching diamond
  • Producers like the Mine Shaft and Sluice Box never run out; they keep making output as long as you keep collecting
  • The Shop Kiosk is now called the Vending Machine
  • Tool upgrades ask for 15 times the ore they used to
  • The Shockwave hits much harder, reaches wider and further, and charges with a whine before a deep air-blast boom
  • The Grapple Hook is a Common tool
  • The Leveler hits much harder with a wider blast and holds one mini-nuke per magazine
  • The Orbital Laser, Annihilator and the AC-130's 40mm hit much harder, and the lasers burn a wider path
  • The flamethrower power-up turns up about a third as often

Fixed

  • Reloading or clicking fire with an empty gun reloads it straight away, even right after a slow shot
  • Reloading never loads one round more than the magazine holds
  • Crack It Open completes straight away if you've already cracked a geode
  • Prestige clears abilities slotted into pets, and the altar's loss list matches what it takes
  • Pyromaniac, Corrosive Touch and Wild Swings roll once per swing (once per shot on cone weapons) at their full chance
  • Sweet Spot and Hot Streak work on every weapon
  • Lucky Salvage, Wingman and Mother Lode say fragments and ore, which is what they multiply
  • Ore Prospector and Windfall work for multiplayer clients, and Windfall only rolls on blocks you break with a tool
  • Encore can save an Air Strike, Earthquake or Tornado
  • Deeper districts' upgrades never ask for less ore than shallower ones
  • Rain and snow no longer fall inside caves and buildings
  • Breaking a hydraulic press with a geode inside no longer pays the geode's loot as well as returning it
  • A geode handed back to you keeps its district tier and is never turned into cash
  • Charged loot blocks are buried inside buildings and only show once you break into them
  • Glowing power blocks come back when a district resets, even on long-running servers
  • Geodes can no longer be carried through a prestige
  • Prestige resets your equipment, keeping only the starter Dynamite
  • Orbital laser, artillery, meteor strikes and the AC-130 no longer wipe out deep districts
  • The tornado no longer vanishes when its base leaves the screen
  • Fire and acid leave the last blocks they reach partly eaten instead of finishing them
  • Your own block breaks show the full debris burst immediately
  • Clients see the debris burst, sparks and dust when other players break blocks, from further away and without delay
  • You can see other players' muzzle flashes, laser beams and flamethrower and acid splashes
  • Particles on clients collide with craters and new blocks instead of the old terrain
  • A joined player's saved placeables work again: they produce, can be collected from and can be removed, and stay removed
  • Players who join after a district reset no longer see glowing power blocks that give nothing
  • Escape always closes the top menu layer; Tab closes an item inspector before the inventory
  • Only geodes, boxes, perks, pets and pet abilities can be inspected, and the inspect hint only shows on those
  • Geodes can't be put on the build hotbar
  • Item quantities fit inside the tile, and tooltips keep a neutral border
  • Flower fragments show their green stem in item panels
  • Equipped perk cards no longer sit on a dark square
  • The loading screen's building no longer picks up dark shading from the world behind it
  • The game no longer fills your console with diagnostic logs

Removed

  • The Interface blur setting
  • The loadout selection panel
  • The inventory search box, which never filtered anything
  • The Toggle Build Mode button; B (or R3 on a pad, on your plot) does it
  • The build hotbar's how-to caption and the slot-count captions on the hotbar, carry, equipment, perk and pet sections

  • The game version is shown on the main menu and under the control legend

Improved

  • The Leveler hits twice as hard and fires two nukes before reloading
  • Orbital laser visuals – a glowing beam with an impact flash, sparks, plasma and smoke, and its own satellite icon
  • Orbital Laser – burns a narrower hole more slowly but hits harder, deals steady damage on ground, walls and roof edges, and is now as rare as the gunship and tornado
  • AC-130 – the 25mm and 40mm cannons hit smaller areas so it no longer clears whole districts, the 40mm hits a little harder, and the 105mm reloads half as fast

Fixed

  • The AC-130 can be called in from underground or under a roof
  • Orbital laser beams no longer end in a hard line at their sides
  • The grapple hook is held like the other handheld tools
  • Two-handed tools no longer jitter mid-swing
  • Travelling to a district from the map turns you to face it
